Happy 2023, everyone!!
It has been a month since my last posting, where I promised to do better with posts in 2023. In my defense, I don’t consider the holidays over until after Martin Luther King’s Birthday (Did anybody buy that? No. Okay.) Anyway I am back to working on the rewrite of the third book, still titled Pele’s Fire for the present. The rewrite of the second book is still with my publisher and the assigned editor. Given the holidays, I don’t expect to hear much back for another month or so, a least.
But it does leave me free to focus on Pele’s Fire. As I’ve mentioned before in this blog, that book has already been professionally published once, but because of the changes I made in the rewrites of the first two books in the series, I promised to rewrite it for my publisher as well. In the original version, I told the story of Keone and Julie’s honeymoon cruise in a series of flashbacks, but I have now incorporated that part of Pele’s Fire into the revised second book in the series, currently titled Murders, Myths, and Memories.
This allows me to go into greater depth on the main stories of Pele’s Fire. I am looking forward to the opportunity that provides.
That’s about all for now, but I plan to get back to weekly postings on this blog going forward and allowing you to join me on the journey to professional publication of the second and third books in the Maui Mysteries Series.
